Queila Sofia Gomes Fernandes, was born in Lagedos Santo Antão, on December 11, 1994. She lived practically her entire life on the island of São Vicente, but always with a strong sentimental and blood connection with the island of Santo Antão and Santiago.

She has always been interested in photography and cinema, but started taking photographs at the age of 17 with her first camera. Taking photography was the way she found to be more connected with people and try to understand things around her.

He had the opportunity to exhibit his work at the National Center for Art and Design in Mindelo in June 2018, on the occasion of the “third edition of Catchupa Factory”, which is an artistic residency organized by Associação AOJE (Associação Olho de Gente), also held an exhibition at a contemporary art festival called “Afirika Sovoies 2019” located in France, in the city of Chambery, participated in the “IX Bienal de Jovens Criadores da CPLP”,  in Luanda - Angola and held two exhibitions simultaneously at the Centro Cultural De Mindelo and Palácio da Cultural Ildo Lobo in 2019.
