Born in Moscow in 1981, Soren Araújo grew up in a family of artists. Having spent his youth in the city of Praia, Soren regularly attended the rehearsals of the group Simentera, of which his mother, singer Terezinha Araújo, was a co-founder. Years later, Soren joined Mário Lúcio Sousa's band, (also co-founder of the group Simentera), with whom he began his professional career in music. In addition to music, Soren Araújo was always surrounded by his uncle's paintings and poems. -grandfather Eleutério Sanches and the sculptures of his great-aunt Lurdes Araujo Vieira. This context ended up marking and influencing his passion for the aesthetic-visual area, which later materialized in his photographic production.
The passion for Heavy Metal as a teenager and the visual universe inspired by illustrations/covers/lyrics of his favorite albums by bands like Katatonia, Textures, Megadeth, Enslaved, Symphony X, among many others, also ended up making an indelible mark on the your visual universe.
Another great inspiration comes from his tours in many places. Morocco, India, Nigeria, South Africa, Namibia, where he studied Marketing, as well as several European countries, as well as Wales, in the United Kingdom, where he currently resides.
The look behind his photographs reflects multiple influences that permeate his compositions, sometimes in a polychromatic way, others in black and white, translated into his own poetics, the result of which we are pleased to share here.
